Our Last Day in Alaska

Dear Friends,
Yesterday in the morning, we went dog sledding. It was fun but short. It was also muddy and cold but we muddled through it. Next, we stopped at Target to get food and supplies for the plane ride home. Most people got Starbucks and pringles. VBS was a lot of fun, all the kids were super energetic, but they were sad it was going to be over. We took pictures of the all the kids groups and played lots of fun games. Everyone sang and danced at the closing service. Our group was presented with a banner that all the kids had signed that said ‘Thanks for helping with VBS!’ Jamie- the DCE there was also given a banner for her 10 years of service and planning there. We were all sad to say goodbye to the kids and workers there, some leaders had been really attached to certain kids it was especially hard to see them go. Later the night all we had planned was packing and cleaning, but Pastor invited us over for a cook out. When we got there Jamie, her husband, and her baby were all there it was cool that they were there. Almost everyone played a game of volleyball; it was so much fun the only problem was that we were eaten alive by mosquito. Pastor grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and two types of fish: Salmon and Halibut. His wife made amazing brownies that the group of girls loved. After the Pastors house we went home took showers, packed bags, and went to bed. This morning John woke us up by saying “Good morning everybody!” Then we packed up Buthera and Priscilla a.k.a. our cars, and headed to the airport. Currently we are sitting and sleeping in the gate waiting to board.
